We use a special ultrasound probe that produces excellent image quality of the abdominal and pelvic organs for any gynaecological investigation. Some ultrasounds require fasting or a full bladder. We will advise if any preparation is necessary when you book.
Ultrasound imaging of the veins and arteries is a non-invasive method to check for narrowing vessels or blockages, clots or DVTs. Fasting is sometimes required for vascular scans – we will give you full instructions when you make a booking.
If your child requires an ultrasound, our friendly staff are very experienced. We aim to set your child’s mind at ease throughout the experience of an ultrasound scan.
Sonography can sometimes detect hard-to-diagnose stress fractures that don’t always show clearly on standard x-rays. Our highly skilled sonographers are competent across all aspects of MSK scanning and can perform comprehensive and accurate assessments. We can undertake both dynamic and still studies to diagnose muscle performance.
At each stage of the pregnancy, ultrasound imaging provides your healthcare provider with important information about the baby, your uterus, cervix and ovaries. Routine diagnostic scans are referred by your obstetrician or GP.

These are elective scans and offer no diagnostic ability – so you don’t need a referral from your doctor, and you receive the images immediately post-scan.
