Diagnostic Scans

Routine diagnostic scans are referred by your obstetrician or GP.

We can conduct all types of routine pregnancy ultrasounds, including:

  • early dating scans
  • nuchal translucency screening
  • 20-week morphology
  • third trimester scans.

Pre-natal ultrasound scans are non-invasive procedures.

At each stage of the pregnancy, ultrasound imaging provides your healthcare provider with important information about the baby, your uterus, cervix and ovaries.

Non-Diagnostic 3D/4D Scans

Our pregnancy imaging also extends to top-quality non-diagnostic 3D/4D imaging of your growing baby, right here in Rockhampton.

Book in to see your baby’s features up close, after you have completed the 20-week morphology ultrasound. No referral required, but this is a full-fee service.

The ideal timing is 26 – 32 weeks for a 3D/4D experience.

These are elective scans only and offer no diagnostic ability – so you don’t need a referral from your doctor, and you receive the images immediately post-scan.

See the baby on a large TV screen. Our state-of-the-art technology allows you to see the baby in real-time – this video capability is called 4D imaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my partner attend my meet-the-baby non-diagnostic scan?

Yes! Enjoy your special experience with one or two direct family members in the comfort of our well-appointed rooms.

Will I have access to my images?

Yes! As part of the service, we will also capture 3D images as well as 4D video for you to take home after the scan. We’ll also send all the images directly to your phone.

When is the best time to do this ultrasound?

These scans are ideally done from 26-32 weeks’ gestation. Please talk to us if this timing is not possible for you.

What if my baby is shy on the day?

We’ll work hard to capture your baby’s features on the day. Sometimes the baby or placenta’s position, size of the baby and other factors make it very difficult.

And if we are unable to obtain clear images and videos, we will offer one free rescan at a later date if this is before 32 weeks’ gestation.

How should I prepare for the 3D / 4D scan?

It’s important to be well hydrated, so drink plenty of water for a few days before the scan, and on the day. This contributes to a good amount of clear fluid around the baby, which leads to better images. No, you don’t need a full bladder on the day!
